Two weekends ago, I was put under the spell of the ambiance, the food, and the heavenly desserts from Gayuma ni Maria.
I’m sure the quaint restaurant in Quezon City rings a bell, especially if you study or live in the Katipunan or Sikatuna area. With my closest friends from work, Cindy and Cheena, we spent a great Sunday afternoon there and did some catching up over their interesting dishes.
Upon entering the restaurant, Cindy and I couldn’t help but take pictures of the place. From the entrance, to the walls, to their naughty corner, everything was just unique but at the same time cozy.
The wall by our booth is covered with love spells and potions that you might want to try:
But if the spells don’t work, head over to their naughty nook and choose your weapon. 😉
The menu is as unusual as the restaurant’s motif. Every dish is related to love, commitment, and passion. Some entries that caught my attention: Lumpiang Excited, Blushing Mermaid, Size Doesn’t Matter, and Unrequited Love.
I had a hard time choosing from some of their exotic combinations but being the adventurous girl that I am, I selected something I have never encountered in any restaurant before: Once You Go Black, You Never Go Back. Hell yeah! 🙂 It’s cream dory coated in chocolate with a side serving of french fries. It went well with a steaming cup of rice.
Cindy loved her choice, too! She went for their Exotic Lover, a pasta dish.
Gayuma ni Maria is best known for their mouth-watering desserts. You have to taste them to decide whether you agree or not, but we surely looooved our desserts.
Cindy got Beats Sex Any Day while I opted for Tall, Dark, and Handsome (cake, that is). I also got curious about their shakes, so I tried their lychee shake and loved it, too.
We left Gayuma ni Maria with happy tummies (and nice pictures) and a realization about love: Forget love, I’d rather fall in chocolate!
Gayuma ni Maria is located at 123 V. Luna Ext., Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. It is open everyday (M-Sat from 10am to 11pm and Sun from 10am to 10pm).
